Principal warns public about storefront scam

BLOOMINGTON — Central Catholic High School Principal Joy Allen is warning the public about a candy sale scam that wrongly uses the name of her school.

Allen said children and adults sold M&M candy at the front doors of several stores over the weekend, telling potential buyers the fund-raiser would help buy basketball uniforms and pay for a trip for CCHS students.

The school is not involved in any such venture, she said.

Allen has reported the matter to police departments in both Normal and Bloomington.
