I read with interest the letter from Jim Groth on Nov. 28 (“If you hit parked car, at least leave a note”). It appears that someone really wants to spread their version of holiday wishes by smacking into vehicles at Heartland College.
We recently lent our car to our grandson to use to attend classes at Heartland. He not only brought home a good grade but also some very ugly dents and scrapes along the passenger side of our car. It wasn’t just a “ding.” Believe me whoever smacked the car had to know he/she hit something.
It appears that we may be faced with replacing both the front side door along with the back seat door and maybe the back panel next to the trunk. All of which we — and hopefully our insurance company — will have to pay for.
This individual also did not leave a note or report it to Heartland. Our grandson did report the hit and was told the college couldn’t do anything about it. Are there no cameras or security patrol individuals in the parking lots?
This is just another example of folks not wanting to take responsibility for their own actions and not caring about others. I would say shame on you but I know you don’t really care.
