Driver who hit dog should be haunted

This is to the person who hit a dog at the corner of Center and West Graham about 4:05 a.m. Oct. 2 and left it there to fend for itself. Shame on you! You know who you are! You know you do!

I was a little over a block away delivering papers when I heard the thump and yelp of the dog crying out in pain. I quit delivering and went to look. It was a heart-wrenching sight seeing the dog struggle to just breathe, let alone get up.

I called the Bloomington Police Department, which dispatched Animal Control, then stayed with the dog to make sure Animal Control found it so it could receive the help it needed.

I hope the dog is OK and reunited with its family. As for the driver, I hope that person's conscience haunts them and gets the better of them until they do the right thing and fess up!
