OK, I would like to express my opinion on this smoking thing before the government passes an ordinance to prohibit me from doing so. First off, I am a smoker who hates smelling my own smoke. Therefore, I respect the fact that other people do not like smelling it.
I am just tired of special-interest groups jumping on this non-smoking bandwagon. I would be willing to bet these people when making plans for dinner with their spouse smoking is not mentioned - i.e. "Hey Hon, ant to go out and eat and expose ourselves and our kids to secondhand smoke?"
These establishments now have the right to make their own choices! Cigarettes are a carcinogen, no argument there. But how many of the foods we eat have cancer-causing agents in them? The government has just allowed acceptable levels of these agents in them - I think the people on this panel were farmers who use Roundup on their crops.
Who would have thought 10 years ago we would be buying bottled water. Why do you think that is? Hmm! My point here is, keep the government out of it and make it a choice that we all have. I think Downs has an ordinance that says donkeys are not allowed on sidewalks.
