Once again, the stressed out, hard working, tax-paying citizens of Illinois are going to become the money pot for the abhorrent lack of true fiscal leadership in Springfield. Michael Madigan and his Chicago cronies are going to take it to the citizens of Illinois once again by increasing our taxes and driving our pension and expense debt into the stratosphere.
Forget fiscal responsibility. That went out the door decades ago when Madigan took power. Like it or not, what we are all watching is the gradual, unrelenting degradation of moral leadership in the Illinois legislature. Folks, this is what happens when blind political ideology crushes citizen well being.
Congratulations to Mike Madigan and his welfare state leadership team. What they are doing to us and our families is tantamount to debtor's prison; a debt that will never, ever be repaid.
Take a look at the billions of dollars that the state of Illinois owes its own suppliers. Take a look at the atrocious 60 percent underfunding of the state’s pension system. Take a look at the thousands upon thousands of people who are leaving the state for the hope of more opportunity and less taxes. Take a look at the abysmal state credit rating that is now approaching junk status.
But none of this matters to Mike Madigan and his team. That is nothing more than a minor nuisance compared to the furtherance of the all-important, sacrosanct ideology of tax and spend.
