Growing up on a farm, many years ago, I learned to know the value of animals in the great scheme of things.
Please allow me to share several observations with you.
First of all, I have never seen a male "father" cat do anything for his family. Not even a mouse to eat. ("Sterile Feral traps cat family; strays to roam on farm," July 29, Page A1)
I have seen the male, father, cat kill a male kitten. They are noted for that. I've seen a mother cat abuse and reject her newborn kittens.
Today there are many dear humans who greatly need our compassion, food, medicine and shelter. We must not fail them.
In this day of modern marvels and technology, there seems to be a deadly virus that is destroying our common sense.
