In this season when many of our representatives seem eager to dodge voters and quick to nix town halls, it seems necessary to state the obvious: legislators have a responsibility to their constituents to meet with them and respond to their concerns.
It is very upsetting to me that as a citizen in District 88, Rep. Keith Sommer’s district, I have been unsuccessful in setting up a meeting with him, either as an individual or as part of a group. In contrast, I have always found my state Sen. Bill Brady very accessible and want to praise him for that. To Rep. Sommer: I vote and I will remember.
