I write this letter as a perplexed voting resident with concern for the lack of efficiency in the governing of our state budget. Two years is much too long for this state fiasco to continue. Perhaps it is my political naivety, however, I have lived in Illinois for decades, worked faithfully with its funding systems, yet never dreamed that our political systems could become so self-serving or so choked by group thinking, that it would damage the very system it is to serve.
This really disturbs my trust in our leadership and also in my personal decisions regarding how I qualify my vote in the future. I pray for us both.
