Wants better solution to water main breaks

The reason this is not going to the (Bloomington) Water Department is that they can't seem to do their job correctly.–;I live on North Morris Avenue and am currently experiencing the third break of the water main in a week. It currently is Saturday morning, Dec. 17 at 7:37am.

The horrible service I receive from the Water Department is bad enough.–;The receptionist who answers the phone is their only bright spot, until she transfers you to someone who is as surly a public service representative as I have ever witnessed.–;The guys that come out to fix it are nice enough, when they get out here, but what good is it when it goes again the very next day?

My major concern is health.–;Everywhere else I hear about this happening, I hear it–;because the city puts that region under a boil order until the work is complete.–;In my neighborhood, I know not to drink the water when I see the cul-de-sac in front of my house turn into a river. This has happened at least six times in the last 10 months. Is the Water Department trying to break a record? Is this water safe?–;Is my family's health in danger?–;These are the questions I have to answer for myself because the city does little to help me.

–;I am not asking for someone to go out of their way here, just for the city to simply do two things, let me and my neighbors know what the situation is, and to try to find a more permanent solution to a reoccurring problem.
