I am surprised at the lack of interest in the pollution in our drinking water.

All too often, people believe that because we live in America, we always have safe water to drink. This is not always the case.

Pesticides from farming, road salt and even used motor oil can seep into underground water supplies and eventually into supplies of drinking water.

Although water treatment is used in towns and cities to clean water for drinking, there are many people in rural areas who have private wells that may be affected.

Contaminated water is also harmful to wildlife. Nothing is preventing pollution from entering lake and river water.

It is time that something is done! It is time that people become informed about this problem!

Once the general public is aware of this problem, we can work together to fix it. Hopefully, we can find more environmentally safe alternatives to many of the harsh chemicals that we use today.
