It was an honor to be presented with the inaugural Davis Merwin Memorial Award for Excellence in Leadership as a result of YWCA associates’ commitment and generosity during the 2013 United Way of McLean County Campaign.
Mr. Merwin’s hands-on work ethic and love for his community truly reflects the spirit present at YWCA McLean County. It was important to Mr. Merwin to “make a difference” in the community, which is reflective of who we are and what we are striving to do in our community.
It is because of the philanthropic efforts brought about by Mr. Merwin, the United Way of McLean County and other courageous leaders that the YWCA and other agencies are able to meet the needs of the community and to continue the great work of Mr. Merwin.
Thank you to the United Way of McLean County and the family of Davis Merwin for recognizing our commitment. It is a privilege for the YWCA McLean County to be a part of Mr. Merwin’s legacy.
