A tornado siren.
The village's first emergency siren system — installed in November at the corner of Center and Harrison streets — makes its debut at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
McLean County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency sets 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month as the designated time for communities to test the systems.
The $20,000 system was funded through grants from State Farm Insurance Cos., Horizon Wind Energy, and American Bio-Refinery.
From now on, the village will test the sirens at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, said Chad Benjamin, a village trustee.
