BLOOMINGTON — As of Monday morning, Country Financial has received 482 reports of tornado, high wind and hail damage in central, east central and northern Illinois since tornadoes and other severe weather struck on Sunday.

Of the reported claims, 186 have been made to the company’s Bloomington claims office that includes Wash-ington, East Peoria, Pekin and Peoria.

Another 81 claims have been received in the Champaign Claims office while 60 have come from the Joliet of-fice.

The company said in a press summary on Monday morning that most of the severe property damage occurred in Washington and Pekin. However, claims representatives have not been able to get into some of the hardest hit areas yet, the company noted.

Country customers can file auto and property claims by calling 1-866-COUNTRY (866-268-6879) or online at www.countryfinancial.com. Representatives are on call 24 hours a day. Country also has claims offices at 1716 N. University St. in West Peoria and at 3601 GE Road in Bloomington.

Also, effective immediately, Country has established a temporary location at 2265 Washington Road in Washington for customers to file claims.

The office will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for as long as necessary, said the company.

Meanwhile, State Farm representatives also are out assessing damage. Customers with serious damage can call their agent or 1-800-SFCLAIM to start the process.

Customers who have been impacted are encouraged to save all receipts from emergency repairs, make an inventory of all damaged property (including vehicles), and take photos of any and all damage. Customers can be reimbursed for expenses related to emergency repairs, and photos and an inventory of damaged property can help expedite the claims process.

Customers with questions are asked to call their local Country representative or the 800 number.
