PEORIA -- A couple's argument in a club Sunday over the man's alleged flirtatious behavior, ended with the woman's assault and her being left on the sidewalk near OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center with head injuries, according to a police report.
The man, Michael Moore, 28, no address given, was arrested by police for aggravated domestic batery.
According to the report, the two continued to argue in a car after leaving the club around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when the woman allegedly pulled a knife on Moore.
The police responded to a call of a female on a sidewalk next to a car in the roadway at Pennsylvania and Missouri avenues. The police said the woman was bleeding from both eyes and ears and her mouth. Another officer returned to the scene with Moore who spontaneously asked the officer, "Is she dead?" and said something like, "It didn't have to go this far," according to the police report.
After telling the police that the woman took a swing at him with a pocket knife, the man stopped talking and did not describe what happened. A security camera appears to show the couple in a physical fight with the man "stomping" on the woman's head several times.
The woman's condition was not known on Monday.
