Aldean West, 93, of Bloomington, passed away 11:22 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 8, 2018) at Villas of Holly Brook, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Chaplain Trevor Bartolomucci will officiate. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the memorial home. The family suggests memorials be made to Home Sweet Home Ministries, Bloomington, or to First United Methodist Church, Normal.
Aldean was born March 5, 1925, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Clay H. and Pearl Richardson Mortimer. She married Lloyd Wilbur West on Feb. 28, 1946, in Ellsworth. He passed away April 1, 2009.
Surviving are three children, Randy (Jane) West, Ellsworth; Rozanna (John) Spencer, Ellsworth; and Ronda (Bruce) Roop, Downs; nine grandchildren, Scott (Karen) West, Tami (Tom) Nelson, Jill Spencer, Julie (Ron) Stanley, Jaclyn (Tyler) Watson, Jenifer Spencer, Joshua (Bridget) Roop, Jacob (Cari Oester) Roop, Jaycie (Jamie) Liebendorfer; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Aldean was preceded in death by parents and two sisters.
Aldean attended ISNU. She had a strong faith and was dedicated to her daily readings. Her hobbies and interests centered on her family. Aldean will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff with Transitions Hospice and the Villas of Holly Brook for the care and compassion shown to Aldean, and a special thanks to her granddaughter, Jaycie Liebendorfer, for her special care of her grandmother.
