Bessie M. Mclain, 85, of Arrowsmith, passed away Sunday (June 10, 2018) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Bessie’s service will be at noon Saturday at Otto-Argo-Calvert Funeral Home, Danvers, with Pastor Steve Evans officiating. Following the service, burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be from 10 to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Bessie was born May 21, 1933, in Danvers. She was the daughter of John W. and Dessie L. Crow Carey. She is survived by her children, Robert (Georgia) Mclain, Downs; Roy Douglas Mclain, Arrowsmith; Ronny Dennis Mclain, Arrowsmith; Geneva (Ronny) Beck, Gibson City; Russell Dean Mclain; Ralph Dwayne Mclain, Loda; and William Dale Mclain, Arrowsmith; grandchildren, Melinda Jane Mclain, Bartonville; Susan Marie Finley, Sulphur Springs, Texas; Tammy Jo Mclain, Oklahoma; Jonathan Robert Mclain, Illinois; several great- and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Cindy May and Mary Lee Mclain; six brothers; one sister; and a sister-in-law, Grace Carey.
Bessie loved her flower garden, country music and watching her soap operas and Western TV shows. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by all her family.
