Bettie L. Main, 87, of Gibson City, died 1:30 p.m. Friday (Aug. 10, 2018) at her home.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Gibson City, with the Rev. John Tennyson officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
She was born Aug. 13, 1930, in Gibson City, a daughter of Jay R. and Zella E. Rutledge Oneal. She married Robert Main on Aug. 17, 1948, in Gibson City. He died March 4, 2015.
Surviving are her children, Linda (Jim) Lindelof, Gibson City; John (Rindy) Main, Brandon, Fla.; Nancy (Doug) Turner, Mahomet; Larry (Sindy) Main, Freeport; Jeff (Julie) Main, DeKalb; Mary Jo (Mike) Pilcher, Paxton; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and three more on the way; a sister, Sharron Lightner, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and a brother, Dennis Oneal, Murphysboro, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Bettie worked as a secretary for 37-plus years at GCMS High School. She was a charter member of Gibson City Music Club, member of Gibson City United Methodist Church, sang in the church choir and in the first Messiah production.
Memorials may be made to her church. Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, is in charge of arrangements.
