Carol Ruth Shultz, 70, of Bloomington, passed away 7:38 a.m. Monday (Jan. 7, 2019) at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be at noon Tuesday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. The Rev. Curt Rush will officiate. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the memorial home. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.
Carol was born Sept. 3, 1948, in Normal, to Raymond and Ruth Rieck Scharf. She married Franklin Shultz on Jan. 4, 1975, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death July 4, 2017.
She is survived by three children, Sharon Crook, Madison, Ohio; Shelia (Dennis) Ball, Bloomington; and Amy (Mitch) Lawler, Sullivan; two grandchildren, Calvin Lawler and Chase Crook; and one brother, Gerald (Sue) Scharf, Deer Creek.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, John William Schultz.
Carol attended Park United Methodist Church in Bloomington. She was a homemaker. Carol enjoyed reading and watching “Nick at Nite” with Franklin. She was a pet lover and especially loved to spoil her grandson, Calvin.
