BLOOMINGTON — Charles L. Ettien, 70, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2019) at his home.
His memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bloomington, with the Rev. Gregory Nelson officiating. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Bloomington, immediately following services. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where there will be a prayer service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
He was born Oct. 27, 1949, in Baltimore, Md. He married Mary Beth Hubbard on Oct. 29, 1970, in Bloomington.

He was a United States Vietnam Marine Corps veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Beth, Bloomington; four children, Heidi (Jerry) Kelleher, Emily (Andy) Casali and Ryan Ettien, all of Bloomington, and Katie (Mark) Aberle, Mahomet. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jake and John Kelleher, Gabby and Bobby Casali, and Adi and Mark Aberle.
In 2006, Charles retired as a sales manager from RaJac Distributing, where he worked since 1981. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington for seven years. His greatest enjoyment came with spending time with his family and their annual vacation to Florida.
