D. Paul Miller, 101, of Normal passed away on Nov. 3, 2018, at Westminster Village, Bloomington.
His memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Normal Mennonite Church. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services.
He was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Protection, Kan., to David and Maggie Miller and married Anna Wiebe on Aug. 14,1948.
Survivors include his daughter; Brenda McCasland, Midway, Utah; two sons, Richard, Evanston; and Donald, Midway, Utah; six grandchildren, Darrick, Nara, Brian, Christopher, Shanna, and Michelle; and two great-grandchildren, Layla and Miles.
D. Paul pursued many interests in life. He rose out of the Dust Bowl as a Mennonite conscientious objector, Ph.D., IWU professor, mountain climber, gardener, clock repairman, author and athlete who loved the woods and, most of all, people. He will be missed by many.
Memorials may be donated to the Normal Mennonite Church or Camp Friedenswald.
