HUDSON — Dan Hinrichsen, 59, Hudson, passed away at 12:33 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 19, 2020) at University of Illinois Health in Chicago.
There will be a visitation for Dan from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, with a memorial service at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomington. The Revs. Mary Kay Henson and Anne Christiansen will officiate. Inurnment will be in Hudson Township Cemetery in Hudson.

Dan was born on April 15, 1960, in Fairbury. He is the son of Ray and Susan Hinrichsen. He married Deanne Huls on May 18, 1985, in Normal. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, Susan, Normal; two children, Carly (Ben) Franks, Doha, Qatar; and Ross (Lauren Nossek) Hinrichsen, Minneapolis; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Marlon (Betsy) Huls, Bloomington, and Les (Patty Roth) Huls, Champaign. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Brent Hinrichsen.
Dan graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in graphic arts. He worked in marketing and printing for many years at Electrolux and last worked at Illinois State University in Normal as the assistant director of printing services since 2012.
He had a passion for woodworking and remodeling his home, and he was always willing to help out a friend or neighbor. Dan was currently attending St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomington.
