LEXINGTON — Diane Carmen Virkler, 81, of Lexington, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday (Feb. 8, 2019.
Her memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Lexington Community Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions in Diane's name may be left at www.cradlefoundation.org.
She was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on March 23, 1937. She married James Virkler in Michigan on June 6, 1957. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are her four children, Greg (Karen) Virkler, Union, Mo.; Pam (Bob) Sinnett, Lexington; Linda (Jerry) Fender, Springfield, Mo.; Mark (Megan) Virkler, Evanston; 10 grandchildren, Dallas, Hannah, Tyler, Kellsi, Lindsey, Ben, Matthew, Morgan, Henry, William; nine great-grandchildren, Haley, Phoenix, Bristol, Penelope, Roman, Logan, Xanthan, Gideon, Calvin; two brothers, Leif (Lois) Lindblom and Bruce Stoddard; two sisters, Pat (Duane) Oevermann and Becky (Mark) Herbert; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Price, Carol Virkler, Brenda Virkler; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albin and Carmen Lindblom; her birth mother, Laura Stoddard; and her sister, Genia Stoddard.
Diane’s entire life reflected her desire to serve Jesus and his church, living out her faith and a personal relationship with Jesus every day.
She will be dearly missed by those on this side of heaven, and she will be welcomed by her many friends and family members who are waiting for her on the other side. We take comfort in our belief that Diane has received her new and glorified body and has heard the words of her awaiting Savior: “Well done, good and faithful servant; ... enter into the joy of your Lord.”
