Edith Marie Miller, 94, of Normal, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 13, 2018) at Heritage Health, Normal.
Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Epiphany Catholic Church with Monsignor Eric S. Powell officiating. Burial will be in Hinthorn Cemetery, Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
She was born on May 28, 1924, in Minonk, the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth MacDonell Brockling. She married Donald Miller on Aug. 24, 1946, at St. Patrick Church, Minonk. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2002.
Surviving are her children, Bill (Nan) Miller, El Paso, and Dan Miller, Normal; three grandchildren, William (Eunkyung) Miller, Hawaii; Anthony (Lauren) Miller, Virginia; and Angela Miller, Normal; and four great-grandchildren, Jay Miller, Joseph “Joe” Miller, Myles Miller and Audrey Miller.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Ringger; and four sisters, Dorothy Stack, Lou Colomac, Eileen Stine and Betty Heineke.
Edith graduated from Benson High School and was employed by ISU prior to her retirement. She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal, where she was a member and past president of the Altar and Rosary Society. Edith was also a member of the Bloomington Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidery and puzzles. Most of all, Edith enjoyed being with her family.
