HUDSON — Frances Swain Ramos, 78, of Anaheim, Calif., formerly of Hudson, passed away March 12, 2019, at the West Anaheim Medical Center, Anaheim, Calif.
A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Following the service family and friends are welcome to a luncheon at the Hudson Baptist Church. Inurnment will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hudson Township Cemetery, Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hudson Library.
Frances was born Dec. 2, 1940, in Owensboro, Ky. She was the daughter of Elvis and Molly Swain.
She is survived by her children, Molly Ramos, David Ramos; grandchildren, Daniel Ramos, Sabrina Ramos, and Emily Ramos, all of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Donna Kathy.
Frances was a graduate of Normal Community High School, Class of 1958, and attended Illinois Wesleyan and the University of Kentucky. She was a captain in the U.S. Army, serving as a registered nurse. Frances enjoyed gardening, crafts and reading. She was a great mother who enjoyed reading to her children, taking them to museums, the park and the beach when they were younger. Frances will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
