Gerald W. "Jerry" Hazelwood passed away Friday (Sept. 14, 2018) at the young age of 67.
Jerry was born July 2, 1951, in Bloomington, to Carl and Dorothy (West) Hazelwood. He attended Bloomington High School, followed by time served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He spent his working years with the Bloomington Housing Authority and Illinois State University, from which he retired.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 40-plus years, Rose; two children, Salina Hazelwood and Brice (Marie) Hazelwood; two sisters, Shirley (Tom) Edwards and Margie (George) Gilmore; one brother, Tom (Joan) Hazelwood; three grandchildren, Malaya, Kalei and Sophie; and one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh.
Jerry was a loving husband and brother and an amazing father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He could always make you smile and laugh and was someone you just enjoyed being around. Although he leaves us with heavy hearts, we are comforted knowing he is at peace.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service at this time.
