Janice Elaine Bealor, 80, of Bloomington, passed away 4:20 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 8, 2018) at Unity Point Methodist, Peoria.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the memorial home. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Monticello Township Cemetery, Monticello.
Janice was born July 12, 1938, in Fisher, to Ralph Raymond and Leona Anna Elizabeth Kestler Woliung. She married Thomas L. Bealor on Nov. 13, 1960, in LeRoy. They started married life in Panama City, Fla., where Tom was stationed while serving in the U.S. Navy. Different assignments took them to Charleston, S.C.; Pensacola, Fla.; and San Diego, Calif. Upon his discharge in 1965, they returned to Illinois.
In 1993, Tom retired from General Telephone and Jan from Prudential Insurance Company and they moved to Manchester, Tenn. Tom passed away July 8, 1995, and Jan returned to Illinois. She began volunteering with Retired Senior Volunteer Program and worked part-time at Kingston Financial Group, where she retired Oct. 24, 2018.
She enjoyed working with flowers and maintaining her yard. Many hours were spent crocheting numerous afghans that were given to family and friends.
Jan was an active member of Eastview Christian Church, Normal, since 1995.
She is survived by one daughter, Tammy (Herb) List, Mason City; four grandchildren, Shelby (Korey) Kern, Mitchell (Allisa) List, Quinn Parker and Cole Parker; two great-granddaughters, Sienna Langford and Jayla Brown; and one sister, Marilynn Bealor, Monticello.
