BLOOMINGTON — Julia Harris, 81, of Bloomington, passed away April 23, 2019, at OSF HealthCare Saint Frances Medical Center, Peoria.
A celebration of life will be at noon Saturday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Julia was born Feb. 3, 1938, in Armington, to Walter and Mabel Marie Myers Temple.
Julia is survived by her children, Rick (Linda) Gordon, Winchester, Calif.; Debbie (Tommy) Rowe, Augusta, Ga.; Robin (Jim Hahn) Holzhauer, Saunemin; Christy Gordon, Bloomington; Cindy (Bobby) Effinger, Sheridan, Ark.; Steve (Peggy) Gordon, Sparta, Wis.; Jeff Gordon, Bloomington; Danny Gordon, Sparta, Wis.; Darryl Gordon, Bloomington. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Dorothy Freeman, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and her brother, Vernon Temple, Whittier, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and three brothers.
Julia worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier in Bloomington and later as a postal clerk in Maine before her retirement.
Julia was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
