Kathryn Lurlene Anderson, 91, of Lindenhurst, formerly of Streator, passed away at 2:08 p.m. Monday (Feb. 11, 2019) at the Villas at Victory Lakes, Lindenhurst, surrounded by family.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Memorial Home, Lexington, with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lexington. Kathryn was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Lexington, the daughter of Alva and Gladys Devore Powell. She married her high school sweetheart Fred Anderson on Oct. 6, 1945, in Lexington. He survives along with children, Richard (Nancy) Anderson, San Antonio, N.M., and Karen (Jack) Noonan, North Redington Beach, Fla.; along with three grandchildren, Troy (Melissa) Noonan, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Ty (Christina) Noonan, Gurnee; Traci (James) Noonan Filut, Naperville; and seven great-grandchildren. Her sister, Madeline Powell Jones, Lexington, also survives.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents; her brother, Elwood Powell; sister, Avis Powell Clemons; and granddaughter, Rie Anderson Davis.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Streator for many years. She worked as a payroll clerk at Streator Clow until it closed. She loved crafting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who loved her.
