Lenora R. “Lennie” Quackenbush, 98, of Bloomington, formerly of Indiana, passed away 4:18 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 9, 2019) at LeRoy Manor nursing home, LeRoy.
Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, with the Rev. Justin Iverson officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington.
Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Granger, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington.
Lennie was born Aug. 30, 1920, in Washington, Ind., the daughter of Earl Raymond and Jennie Pearl Barber Reeve. She married James Quackenbush on March 2, 1946, in Indianapolis, Ind. He passed away Nov. 30, 1969.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Phend, Bloomington; two grandchildren, Lori (Larry) Kimbrough, Long Beach, Calif., and Toby (Maureen) Phend, Carlock; six great-grandchildren, Ciarli, R.J., Kylie, Madeline, Amalia and Ryan.
Lennie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Michael Quackenbush; six sisters; one brother; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Lennie served as a secretary in South Bend, Ind., for a number of years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington. Lennie volunteered at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, for eight years.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
