ANCHOR — Linda Lee Stewart, 73, of Anchor, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 11, 2019) at her residence.
Cremation has been accorded.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Pastor Daryl Evans will officiate. Inurnment will be in Anchor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Fairbury.
Linda was born July 30, 1946, in Bucyrus, Ohio, the daughter of Jess and Marion King Kail. She married Daniel Stewart on Aug. 15, 2015. He survives.
Also surviving are her sons, Mark (Amy) Smock, Grand Junction, Colo., and Mike (Ginger) Smock, Wilmington; stepdaughter, Sarah (Chris) Schultze, Edina, Minn.; grandchildren, Megan, Bailey, Macy and Steven Smock; stepgrandchildren, Stewart, Augustus, Alex and Isaac Schultze; brothers, Brian (Jackie) Kail, Grand Junction, Colo., and Randy (Debbie) Kail, Pueblo, Colo.; and sister, Lori (Ron) Deltondo, Montrose, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson, Mark Stewart.
Linda graduated from Wilmington High School, class of 1964, and attended Rockford Business College. She was a tax auditor for RSM McGladrey in Rockford. She also owned and operated her own accounting office for 10 years.
Linda steered the Discount Dinner (meals for the needy) in Rockford for 10 years. She was a volunteer for Special Olympics.
She enjoyed quilting and was an avid golfer, playing golf courses such as Pebble Beach, PGA West and many more famous courses.
