BLOOMINGTON — Mary V. Botkin, 80, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:33 p.m. Friday (March 15, 2019) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Her graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association.
She was born March 23, 1938, in Meade County, Ky., a daughter of Elbert and Alice Louise Pike Squires. She married Edward C. Botkin on Feb. 14, 1959, in Fort Benning, Ga. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2006.
Surviving are her sons, Thomas E. Botkin, John J. Botkin and James D. Botkin; a son-in-law, Merle Sharp; four grandchildren, Tyler Edward Botkin, Tiffany Marie McMillen, Holli Sharp and Alanna Sharp; a great-granddaughter, Cali McMillen; her honorary grandchildren, Becky, Katie and Eric Johnson; two stepgrandsons, Dustin and Eddie Sharp; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Ann Botkin and Alice Louise Sharp; three sisters, Mildred, Nellie and Theresa; and three brothers, Jerry, Bill and Jim.
Mary loved flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
