Michael J. Howe, 69, of Bloomington, died Monday (Dec. 3, 2018) at his home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Clay County, the son of Fred and Patsy Howe. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the Air Force for eight years. Subsequent to his service in the military, Michael was a systems analyst with Growmark in Bloomington until his retirement in 2004. During retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing strategy games during family game nights, teaching his grandchildren about computers and going to the gym.
Survivors include his two daughters, Andrea Shiner and Susie Howe; a sister, Connie Sue Howe; a brother, Bruce Howe; five grandchildren, Andrew Howe, Jimmy Chamberlain, Paige Trainor, Kaylee Shiner and Alexis Swank; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Doug and Jeff.
His service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at funeral home.
