Ninabelle Z. Fuhlenbrock, 101, passed away Jan. 4, 2019 at Luther Oaks, Bloomington.
She was born March 18, 1917, in Hanna, Ind., to William and Edna Zabel. She married Harold Fuhlenbrock on March 3, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1995 after 49 years of marriage.
She received her teaching certificate from Manchester College (Indiana) and began her career in a one-room schoolhouse. She later received her BA degree from St. Francis College (Indiana) and her MA degree in counseling from Western Michigan University. She retired from teaching in 1980 after 35 years.
She is survived by her son, Gregg Fuhlenbrock, Hanna, Ind.; daughter, Sue (Edward) Dabrowski, Bloomington; grandchildren, Kathlyn (Andrew) Black, The Colony, Texas; Jeffrey Dabrowski, Amy (Bryce) Germann, and great-grandsons, Brock and Cameron Germann, all of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Howard Zabel and Joseph Smith; sister, Bernadotte Butz; and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in memory of Ninabelle to North Muskegon Elementary School, Attention: Tami Budd.
There will be a memorial service and private burial this spring in Hanna, Ind.
