Phyllis J. Killion, 74, of Bloomington, passed away at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2018) at Bloomington Rehabilitation and Health Care, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Dr. Andy Gifford officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the memorial home.
Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield. Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
Phyllis was born June 5, 1944, in Bloomington, a daughter of Raymond and Edith Tomes Swallow. She married Jerry Killion on June 3, 1966, in LeRoy. She later married Jim Shelton in 1975 in Bloomington.
Surviving are her children, Richard Killion and Nancy (Richard) Minor, both of Bloomington; grandchildren, Ashley Minor, Erica Minor, Shelby Minor, Cheyene Minor; great-grandson, Rickey Kindhart; siblings, Sharon Stanford, Donna Davis and Robert Swallow; three nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Phyllis was employed Beich Candy for a short time before becoming employed with Eureka Williams for 33 years and St. Joseph's Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
She loved coffee, had a green thumb and enjoyed walking in the Jingle Bell Walk and Run for over 10 years. Phyllis loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She also loved animals, especially her two German shepherds, Trinny and Senta, and her cat, Panda.
Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
