Trevonte D. Kirkwood, 27, of Bloomington, was called home at 9:59 p.m. Oct. 30, 2018, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
His funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Bloomington, with the Rev. Toby Carlos Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Entombment will be in Evergreen Mausoleum, Bloomington. Memorials may be directed to Trevonte’s family.
Trevonte was born Oct. 3, 1991, in Bloomington, a son to Dameca Kirkwood and Ricky Samuels.
Surviving are his children, Tamia and Ace Kirkwood, both of Bloomington; mother, Dameca Kirkwood, Bloomington; father, Ricky (Tina) Samuels, Normal; siblings, Anthony Hoye, Bloomington; Kendale Parker, Oklahoma; Sabrina Pilant, Normal; and Damian Gaston, Bloomington; maternal grandmother, Brenda Kirkwood, Normal; paternal grandmother, Jackie Samuels, Bloomington; aunt, Brennetta Kirkwood, Bloomington; uncles, Davin (Melissa) Harris, Atlanta, Ga.; and Theoda (June) Kirkwood III, Bloomington; cousins, Joshua, Diondre, Justin, Tabria, Isaac, Dustin, Jordan and Minh; special friends, Amari, Devin, Lamont and Alex; two nephews; and many extended cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Theoda Kirkwood Jr., and his maternal great-grandmother, Viola Jumper-Luster.
Trevonte was known for his smile, which could brighten anyone’s day. He loved spending time with his family and was a wonderful father and son.
