As the clocks ticks down to the closing days of my tenure as a member of the McLean County Board, I want to share a couple of thoughts with the residents of District 1 and with the county. First, thanks so much to the voters in the district for giving me the opportunity to serve as a representative for these past 16 years. It has been a memorable experience is so many ways. I have learned that we have many outstanding representatives that work diligently to listen and act upon our concerns and issues.
We have a staff of dedicated administrators and hard working employees who strive to make McLean County a great place to call home. We need to continue to work together as a united team helping fulfill our county's great potential.
Second, participate and get involved by voting in every election. Your vote counts. Express your views at the ballot box but first ask questions, seek answers, share your ideas. Do the hard work that is required by an informed electorate. Encourage others to get involved in the process. A representative democracy works best when we all participate together.
