March 3, 1918: Construction of the new BHS building, built and occupied last year, ran up an aggregate cost of $516,290.27. These figures were in a report compiled by Horatio G. Bent, business manager of the Bloomington school board. Planning, real estate, etc. are included.

March 3, 1943: A small crowd gathered in front of the courthouse to watch the auction of numerous assets of the Bevan Dairy. Founded in 1901, the dairy ceased operations and Normal Sanitary Dairy took over its routes. Several horses and delivery wagons were auctioned off.

March 3, 1968: Bloomington attorney and Brig. Gen. Richard T. Dunn has been placed in charge of the Illinois Emergency Operations Headquarters. He is a 25-year veteran of the Army and the Illinois National Guard. (R. T. Dunn Drive is named for him.)

March 3, 1993: Two men sharing a house in Shirley got out safely when it caught fire and was gutted. They declined comment on the episode but neighbors, who summoned the Dale Township Fire Department, said the flames engulfed the modular home quickly.
