To better understand what our homeless population is going through, Home Sweet Home Ministries' “Night In A Car” was a way for all of us with plenty to have a glimpse of what our homeless go through.
We had food, yes, and a warming place, but many homeless have that, too. They get to choose to come and get help, which many do not. We had an outpouring of warming places during the very cold week last week, in which numerous places stayed open through the night to provide a place to get warm and have something to eat.
HSHM had several “classes” to educate all of us, who only know a roof over our heads, as to how to serve them better. My heart goes out to all who stepped up to say ‘I care’ and get involved.
Homelessness is an ongoing problem with many facets, and we don’t understand them all, but thank you to all who are taking a step to get involved!
