I was taken aback when I read the Sept. 17 Pantagraph article, "Normal looks to pension funding." Any person who receives (or anticipates receiving) an IMRF stipend should be alarmed.
The Illinois Municipal League is working to get pension funds "consolidated." Don't be deceived. The only reason for consolidation is to raid the IMRF of funds that have been generally well-monitored over the years. This is a non-union fund that appears to be fair game for miserably run union funds.

Considering the awful financial mess in Illinois, this should not surprise me. I can just visualize Gov. Pritzker licking his chops over another way to rip off responsible citizens. I recommend any person with a stake in the IMRF to call their state representative. This is a bad situation.
