If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. I’m voting for our County Clerk Kathy Michael. Managing an office with a budget of nearly $1.6 million with 12 full-time employees requires years of business experience. Hiring over 400 election judges each election is also no small task for the largest geographical county in Illinois. Kathy fits the bill.
I have yet to hear one idea from her opponent that is valid or would improve what is a well-managed office. Unfortunately, all I’ve seen are personal attacks.
Kathy has led the clerk’s office without one major complaint, until her opponent announced she was running. Her opponent says Kathy breaks the law regarding early voting, proven to be a lie; has polling places that are not accessible to those with disabilities, proven to be a lie; and causes voter suppression; are you kidding me? Let’s make sure we keep Kathy Michael as our county clerk.
