It was welcome to see that farming made the front page of The Pantagraph today (April 11).
I lived on the same farm for 65 years except for 21 months during the Korean conflict. I helped farm for another five years and turned the “farming” over to an excellent and dependable young farmer.
I have nothing to boast about because without God’s help, I would have probably failed.
We had many years that were like this year, when the weather seemed not to cooperate, and yet by Almighty God’s help, some of the “poor” years turned out to be the best.
Today it seems like it’s all about technology and money. I hope that farmers don’t believe that it takes thousands of acres to make a living.
The amount of farmers that exist are very few in number compared to the population 100 years ago.
Keep on bringing the news.
