Metamora Regional

Where: Metamora Fields Golf Club

Area teams: Central Catholic, University High, El Paso-Gridley, Eureka, Prairie Central, Flanagan-Cornell, Fieldcrest, Pontiac.

Keep an eye on: Central Catholic begins defense of its state title with five golfers returning. However, the Saints have been chasing rival University High all season. The Pioneers are back in Class 1A for the first time since 2011, when they won the state tourney, and led by senior Lexi Onsrud, junior Jadyn Spinks and freshman Reagan Kennedy have looked strong all season, shooting 300 in the Central State Eight Conference Tournament. Pontiac sophomore Dani Grace Schrock was state medalist a year ago, while Eureka sophomore Allison Pacocha tied for third and Central Catholic junior Katie Steinman tied for sixth.

St. Thomas More Regional

Where: Lincolnshire Country Club, Champaign

Area teams: Tri-Valley, Blue Ridge, GCMS, LeRoy, Olympia

Keep an eye on: Tri-Valley, led by second-place Alexandria Jones, is coming off a victory in last week's Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament at El Paso Golf Club.

Williamsville Regional

Where: The Rail Golf Course, Springfield

Area teams: Hartsburg-Emden, Lincoln, Mount Pulaski

Beecher Regional

Where: Balmoral Woods Country Club, Crete

Area teams: Dwight

Class 2A - Thursday

Normal Community Regional

Where: Ironwood Golf Course, Normal

Area teams: Normal Community, Normal West

Keep an eye on: Normal Community claimed its sixth straight Big 12 Conference Tournament title last week, with Mackenzie Biggs taking medalist honors with 83 at Kellogg Golf Course in Peoria. Biggs is among four players who were on NCHS' regional winning squad last year. Normal West is led by junior Madi Bley, who is a two-time sectional qualifier.

Springfield Regional

Where: Lincoln Greens Golf Course, Springfield

Area teams: Bloomington

Keep an eye on: BHS finished fifth in last week's Big 12 Conference Tournament.
