The Community Cancer Center, 407 E. Vernon Ave., Normal, has support groups, classes and programs for people affected by all types of cancer:

Advanced Cancer Support Group

For people with metastatic/stage IV cancer. Meets 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month. Register at 309-451-2217.

Breast Cancer Support Group

For people with breast cancer. Meets 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month.

Breast Health Navigator

Registered nurse helps breast cancer patients and families to navigate their way through the health care system. For an appointment, call 309-451-2216.

Breast Self Awareness

Class to teach breast self-exam. Call 309-451-2216 for more information.

Cool Club, Teen Group

For children ages 5 through 12 (Cool Club) and for youth ages 13 through 18 (Teen Group) who have a loved one with cancer. Meets after school twice a month. Call 309-451-2217 to register.

Look Good ... Feel Better

Class, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, teaches make-up techniques to help women to cope with side effects of cancer treatment. Meets 4 to 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month. Register at 309-451-2210 or 800-227-2345.

Lymphedema Clinic

Provides education and screening, in partnership with Advocate BroMenn Medical Center and OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. Meets 9 a.m. the first and third Monday of each month. Register at 309-451-2216.

Reach to Recovery

Program, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, provides information and support for people newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Register at 800-227-2345.

ReNew

Covers nutrition, exercise and wellness for cancer survivors. Meets 6 to 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Resource Center

Offers books, access to Internet and other resources. Open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Spiritual Pathways

For cancer patients interested in discussing spirituality. Meets 5:30 to 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month. Register at 309-451-2259.

Transportation

Free transportation to and from cancer center for patients living in Bloomington-Normal. Call Scott Health Resources at 309-823-4224. Patients living outside Bloomington-Normal may call American Cancer Society at 800-227-2345.

UsToo Prostate Cancer Group

For men with prostate cancer and their families. Meets 7 to 8 p.m. the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October.

Yoga

Yoga and meditation for cancer patients and caregivers. Meets 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays (call 309-287-5479) and 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays (call 309-531-3528). Eight classes for $48; first class is free.
