BLOOMINGTON - Ricky Angel and Molly Coers have been named most valuable players for the Illinois Wesleyan baseball and softball teams, respectively.
Angel was a first-team all-American and College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin player of the year after batting .452 with a school-record 75 hits. He had 10 home runs, 19 doubles and 54 RBI.
Coers led the softball team with a .390 batting average and set a school record with 48 runs scored. She became IWU's all-time career leader in hits (198) and runs (134).
