NORMAL - The Calvary Baptist Academy basketball team used an 18-0 run during the fourth quarter Tuesday to rally for a 61-49 East Central Illinois Conference win over Buckley Christ Lutheran.
Buckley Christ Lutheran (1-2, 0-1) opened a 29-25 halftime lead before the Crusaders (3-3, 1-0) came back to take a 41-40 advantage into the fourth quarter.
"We stuck with it and played hard," said Calvary Baptist coach Michael Touma. "We were in foul trouble the whole game but we never dropped our heads."
Michael Adams poured in a game-high 18 points to lead Calvary Baptist, and Josh Borst contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds. Daniel Howerton added 13 points and four steals for the Crusaders.
