Eric Coleman scored 20 points and Ben Jacobson added 15 as No. 25 Northern Iowa completed a season sweep of Wichita State with a 68-56 win Tuesday night at Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The Panthers (21-4, 11-3 Missouri Valley) have won seven of their last eight games.

After squandering a 10-point lead, Northern Iowa pulled away with an 11-2 run late in the second half. Jacobson broke out of an early shooting slump to lead the surge, putting the Panthers back on top with a 3-pointer, then hit fadeaway jumpers from 15 and 18 feet to push the lead to 61-52.

Jacobson stole the ball from PJ Couisnard beneath the basket on Wichita State's next possession, and capped the spurt with a runner with 1:25 left that made it 65-54.

Creighton 60, Evansville 56

Johnny Mathies scored 17 points to lead Creighton over the Purple Aces at Evansville, Ind.

Anthony Tolliver had 13 points and 12 rebounds and Josh Dotzler added 11 points for the Bluejays (17-5, 11-3).

Jason Holsinger led Evansville (6-16, 2-12) with 14 points and Bradley Strickland added 13. It was Evansville's ninth loss in 10 games, while Creighton remained in the conference lead.

S. Illinois 66, Missouri State 64

Randal Falker scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Southern Illinois in a win over Missouri State at Carbondale.

Falker added two blocks and two steals for the Salukis (17-7, 10-4), who shot 52 percent from the field in the first half on their way to a 30-27 halftime lead. Tony Young led all scorers with 17 points, connecting on three of seven three-point attempts for Southern Illinois.

Blake Ahearn led the way for Missouri State (15-7, 8-6), scoring 16 points with two 3-pointers and converting all eight of his free throw attempts.

Tyler Chaney came off the bench to score 11 points for the Bears, who outscored the Salukis 37-36 in the second half while hitting 17 of 19 free throw attempts. But Missouri State could not overcome its 42 percent shooting from the first.

Nathan Bilyeau and Shane Laurie added nine and eight points, respectively, in the loss.

Wesley Clemmons scored 13 points, and Bryan Mullins added 10 points and eight assists for the Salukis.
