NORMAL - Owen Miller stroked four of Illinois State's 14 hits as the Redbirds eased past nonconference foe St. Francis, 11-3, Wednesday at Duffy Bass Field.

The Redbirds snapped a 1-1 tie with five third-inning runs on their to improving to 12-16.

Nick Zouras supported Miller with two hits and three RBIs. Miller, Collin Braithwaite and Derek Parola drove in two runs apiece.

Joe Aeilts chipped in three hits, while John Rave added two.

ISU starter Jack Spicer (1-0) picked up the win after allowing one run in three innings.

After St. Francis (15-21) scored twice in the fourth, Rhett Rapshus, Jeffrey B Barton, Paul Turelli and Dalton Harvery teamed up for five scoreless innings.
