The Pontiac High School basketball team received a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds from Ryan Weir and defeated rival Prairie Central, 72-64, on Friday in an Illini Prairie Conference game at Pontiac.
Max Gschwendtner added 12 points for the Indians with Joey Murphy contributing 10 points and six rebounds. Senior forward Payton Amm had nine points and eight boards.
Prairie Central had four players score in double figures, led by Trey Bazzell's 14 points. Connor Haab added 12 points with Wyatt Steidinger and Kaden King scoring 10 apiece.
Fieldcrest 59, El Paso-Gridley 57, OT: Jaxon Cusac-McKay poured in 28 points to lead the Knights to the Heart of Illinois Conference win at Minonk. Fieldcrest overcame a double digit first half deficit to pull even in the fourth quarter and send the game into overtime.
Cory Land added 10 points for Fieldcrest with Derek May scoring nine points and pulling down nine rebounds. Teron Fairchild had 24 points for EPG.
Ridgeview 55, Tri-Valley 52 OT: Ryan Parker scored five of his 19 points in overtime to spark Ridgeview to victory at Downs. Levi Zimmerman added 12 points for the Mustangs while D.J. Schroeder had 10.
Patrick Williams scored 14 points for Tri-Valley, which trailed 40-33 after three quarters. Cory Brucker added 11 for the Vikings.
Flanagan-Cornell 58, Olympia 43 Exploding for 30 first-quarter points, Flanagan-Cornell upended Olympia in nonconference action at Flanagan.
Jeremy Durdan topped the Falcons with 22 points. Isaac Weber added 12, while Karson Kimpling and Tyler Harms had nine each. Olympia was led by the 14 points of Hunter Berges.
GCMS 74, Heyworth 49: GCMS raced to a 22-7 first quarter lead and coasted to a Heart of Illinois Conference win over the Hornets at Gibson City.
Bryce Barnes led GCMS with 19 points. Ryland Holt added 15 with Connor Birky contributing 13. Colin McCubbins led Heyworth with 12 points.
Deer Creek-Mackinaw 49, Tremont 48: Dee-Mack rallied from a 37-28 third quarter deficit to edge the Turks in a Heart of Illinois Conference game at Tremont.
The Chiefs' Levi Scheuermann scored 12 of his game-high 29 points in the pivotal fourth quarter. Titus Thompson scored 16 points for Tremont.
Tri-Point 61, Lexington 41: Tri-Point had four player score in double figures in a nonconference victory at Cullom. Conor Cardenas led the way for the Chargers with 17 points. Andrew Olson scored 13 points for Lexington with Xavier Moore adding 12.
Cornerstone 64, Calvary 37: Cassidy Jean scored 13 points and Zack Wolfe had 12 points and 14 rebounds in Cornerstone Christian's victory over Calvary Christian in Bloomington.
Roanoke-Benson 71, Midland 40: Luke Braman's 17 points and 13 rebounds sparked Roanoke-Benson to a Tri-County Conference triumph at Varna. Jake Weber supported Braman with 13 points and Jack Weber and Jacob Nix had 10 each for the Rockets (13-5, 4-1).
Central A&M 67, Clinton 44: Zeke Hickman scored 12 points and Cal Case added 10 for Clinton (6-12, 0-2) in the Maroons' Central Illinois Conference loss at Clinton.
Mount Pulaski 40, Midwest Central 33: The Hilltoppers outscored Midwest Central 15-8 in the final period to pull out the win at Mount Pulaski. Brandon Kretzinger led the Toppers with 14 points while Grant Davis added 11.
Seneca 59, Woodland 33: Nate Carby's eight points led Woodland in a loss at Seneca.
