Eureka College football players Rosney Beverly, a junior cornerback, and Wes Schmidgall, a sophomore wide receiver, have been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference players of the week. Beverly, a Normal West High School graduate, earned the South Division award on defense while Schmidgall, a Eureka High School graduate, earned the award on offense following a 63-44 win at MacMurray.
Beverly made six solo tackles and returned an interception 19 yards for his first career touchdown. The interception was the fifth of his career and team-leading third of the season. Schmidgall caught nine balls for a career-high 211 yards and three touchdowns. He leads the league with 920 receiving yards. His 46 catches rank second.
