Illinois State gymnast Gabrielle Cooke was named the Midwest Independent Conference Performer of the Week for the third time this season on Wednesday.
In Sunday's win over Centenary, Cooke scored a career-best of 9.900 on the floor and won the event by 0.100. The sophomore standout also won the vault (9.825), tied for first on beam (9.775) and tied for second on the bars (9.750).
She took the all-around title with a career-best 39.250 as ISU won the meet, 193.600-191.075.
Women's lacrosse wins: Dani Engelbreit and Grainne Kelly scored four goals each to lead Illinois Wesleyan's women's lacrosse team to a 17-5 victory over DePauw at IWU's Tucci Stadium.
Riley Rooney, Mariah Smith and Claudia Richman added two goals each for IWU (3-2). Also scoring for the Titans were Maggie Torres, Abby Kushina and Heather Grimmer. IWU led 11-3 at halftime.
Softball at No. 17: IWU's softball team was ranked 17th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll.
The Titans, who were fifth last week, went 3-3 in the season-opening NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Tucson, Ariz. Defending national champion and Leadoff Classic winner Virginia Wesleyan (14-0) remained at No. 1 in the poll.
